Artist Assembly

We're passionate about supporting our live music ecosystem.

We believe that our artists are at the heart of this and may need support in their road to becoming a sustainable artistic business.

Artist Assembly aims to provide a suite of resources and pathways for artists to increase exposure, workshop new ideas, access industry offers, develop skills, and strategically plan for their future.

Artist Rush Tickets

All artists who perform at the Centre are eligible to access discounted Artist Rush tickets to concerts presented or co-presented by Melbourne Recital Centre (subject to availability). You can purchase up to two tickets (for yourself and a guest) at $15 each. The offer is available from 48 hours prior to the concert and must be purchased in person at the Box Office or over the phone (03 9699 3333).

Free Music

Artists from our co-presented program are invited to participate in the Free Music initiative. This monthly program welcomes ensembles for a private rehearsal or creative development morning in Primrose Potter Salon, where we can supply a piano (untuned), chairs, and music stands. For the last hour of this session, we open the doors and let members of the public in to observe the rehearsal and artistic process. It’s a great opportunity to seek listener feedback, communicate about the challenges you are working through, invite your VIPs along, and build rapport with new audiences.

Artist Assembly Grants

Artist Assembly grants have been designed to support you and your ensemble in your creative development process as part of SalonLab. This is an opportunity to imagine and articulate where an investment of up to $5000 could benefit your project and its creative artists.

Marketing Tactics

Helping to ensure you can reach your dedicated and soon-to-be fans, the team at Melbourne Recital Centre has created a series of Marketing resources to support your journey.

Artist Access Guide

At Melbourne Recital Centre, we’re committed to making music accessible to everyone. We’ve created resources like social scripts, venue maps, and audio guides to assist all guests. Whether you’re sharing our access information or creating your own resources, we’re here to help. This guide offers tips for making your event accessible at the Centre, plus backstage access details for artists.
