Aimed at early-career musicians and composers, our range of emerging artist programs provide performance and premiering opportunities, allowing you to take the next step on your professional pathway.  

Bold Stage

Platforming underrepresented communities on stage for industry showcase events, Bold Stage partners with community organisations that train, develop and nurture emerging artists. This program highlights voices and stories that are not commonly heard on main stages, working with Wild at Heart, MAV and Songlines Australia.

Great Romantics Competition

Providing a platform for emerging artists between 18-25 years across Australia, these young musicians have the opportunity to woo audiences with the works of Romantic composers such as Brahms, Liszt and Schumann. With the chance to win a combination of cash, concert tickets and media opportunities, the Great Romantics Competition is supported by Annamila Pty Ltd and Mrs. Margaret S. Ross AM & Dr. Ian C Ross. University of Melbourne Commissions

Melbourne Recital Centre and the University of Melbourne have a long history of supporting new music through their partnered commission program, providing collaborative opportunities for recent composition graduates and local ensembles.
