Building Services Manager Full Time; Ongoing.
Classification is Melbourne Recital Centre EA 2021-2024 Grade 4.1.1 + superannuation guarantee.
The Building Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of the physical infrastructure of the venue. This role ensures that the building facilities meet the needs of the staff, clients, and visitors while complying with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
The successful candidate will have experience and skills in the following;
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, equivalent experience, or expertise in a relevant building facilities maintenance field.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures and a demonstrated proficiency and competence in use of power tools and other equipment required for repairs and maintenance and compliance.
- An ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels, forge partnerships and build trust across business areas, functions and organisations.
- Knowledge and experience at using IT programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to become skilled user of the Melbourne Recital Centre’s venue management systems for which training will be given.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and use initiative, with ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as high standards of personal presentation and the ability to maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people both internal and external to the organisation.
- Demonstrated capacity to be highly organised, determine workloads, set priorities, work independently and under pressure in a multi-task environment and complete tasks within specified timeframes.
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
- An ability to articulate complex building services issues through the writing of reports for Senior Management decision making.
