Details

Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2024 Artist in Residence launches her latest album Forever Changed.

Following the success of her 2018 record Forever, and No Time At All, written during the early stages of motherhood, Nat returns to Melbourne Recital Centre to premiere her latest album Forever Changed. This album is an introspective reflection on transformation.

Part of the wave of women receiving late-in-life diagnoses of autism and ADHD, this revelation has profoundly changed Nat’s identity, family life and relationships. It has led to an exploration of how her neurodivergent traits connect to her music-making and her experience of motherhood.

Described by The Age as ‘akin to feeling a reassuring hand resting on one’s shoulder,’ her music invites contemplation and radiates tenderness and empathy. In Forever Changed, Nat reflects all of these transformations with a new suite of lullabies. Intended to resonate with the neurodivergent community and featuring her inimitable meditative piano style, Forever Changed explores the unique sensory preferences and needs of those with autism and ADHD, crafted in consultation with music therapists and other neurodivergent individuals.

This performance will feature immersive surround sound and accompanying sensory video projections by Mark Wells.
