Folk Bitch Trio
Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre
Details
An intimate, stripped-back set of lush three-part harmonies and confessional songwriting.
Immerse yourself in the ‘gorgeous harmonies and confessional songwriting’ (Rolling Stone) of Melbourne/Naarm’s very own Folk Bitch Trio. Following a triumphant 2023 of sold-out national shows and accolades, their performance in the intimate Primrose Potter Salon will see the trio perform a stripped back set of lush three-part harmonies and gentle guitar. After captivating audiences at WOMAD, Port Fairy Folk Festival, OK Motels, and sharing the stage with indie rock luminaries Julia Jacklin, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Courtney Barnett, the trio craft a resplendent sound that will bring you joy and heartache.
Blending the radiant voices of Heide Peverelle, Jeanie Pilkington, and Gracie Sinclair, the trio draws influences from contemporary and traditional folk, alt-rock, and country. With songs ‘ringing with emotional truth’ (Sydney Morning Herald), experience Folk Bitch Trio up close and personal in their highly anticipated debut Melbourne show for 2024.
Praise for Folk Bitch Trio
‘Both songs are spare and acoustic, dipped in that trademark harmony and ringing with emotional truth. The lyrics hold tender teenaged thoughts and emotions to the fast-changing light of adulthood.’ – The Sydney Morning Herald
‘There’s just something so delightfully unexpected about a group whose music is resplendent in such gorgeous harmonies and confessional songwriting having such a prickly name.’
– Rolling Stone Australia
‘Harmonies so lush they will break you.’ – Laundry Echo
