Ears Wide Open – Clara Schumann
Presented by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
Details
Take a deep dive into Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto with Ingrid Martin as your guide.
A child prodigy and a renowned concert pianist in the 19th century, Clara Schumann premiered her concerto, filled with ravishing, memorable themes, at the age of just sixteen.
However, it was one of the only public performances of the work for many years, as Schumann’s own compositions were rarely performed in her own time.
Join the MSO to explore this remarkable work from a composer whose brilliance was long overlooked.
