VCASS – Choral Fantasy

VCASS – Choral Fantasy

Presented by Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS)

Details

The musicians from VCASS present an immersive musical experience of works for orchestra and chorus.

Mark Shiell conducts Beethoven’s dramatic Choral Fantasy, selections from Handel’s spirited Saul Oratorio and the sumptuous orchestral realisation of Debussy’s Petite Suite. The concert opens with Elgar’s rousing Introduction and Allegro for strings directed by Rachael Beesley and concludes with the world premiere choral commission Give Us Cause composed by VCASS Alumni Jem Herbert. Augmenting the program is Ola Gjeilo’s striking Dark Night of the Soul conducted by VCASS Head of Choral, Dermot Tutty.
