Modern jazz luminary Antonio Sánchez performs his game-changing solo drum score live alongside the Best Picture Oscar-winning Birdman.

This immersive experience is a rare opportunity to see four-time GRAMMY winner Sanchez’s jaw-dropping craft at work, as he scores the film right before your eyes – celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the tour-de-force film.

Categorically one of the most sought-after drummers on the international jazz scene, Sánchez is known as a revered collaborator of legendary guitarist Pat Metheny, as well as icons such as Chick Corea, Gary Burton and Michael Brecker.

Sánchez’s propulsive and fervent drumming explodes off the screen in Birdman, and the star-studded film’s 2014 release was met with four Oscars and resounding critical acclaim. 10 years on, MIJF invites you to revisit the film in a completely new light, with Sánchez‘s GRAMMY-winning and Golden Globe-nominated score punctuating its key moments and undeniable electric energy.
