Warta-Kiki: Kutcha Edwards & MYO in Celebration.
Earth Cry, Sculthorpe’s plea for the land and its spirit opens the concert which also includes Death and Transfiguration by Richard Strauss. In one of the greatest orchestral tone poems Strauss ushers us into the tumultuous and ecstatic transformation of an artist as he lay dying. Turbulent works perfectly setting the scene for the musical artistry of Kutcha Edwards, MYO and Warta-Kiki. Like resetting musical jewelry, ten of Australia’s leading orchestrators will pour their creative imaginations into new orchestral arrangements for this landmark occasion.
