Inspired by the radiance of spring, beauty and love.

Latvian violinist Sophia Kirsanova has performed across Europe, Israel and Australia. She is a champion of amplifying the traditional violin repertoire, a devoted promoter of Latvian composers internationally and an avid commissioner of new works.

Timothy Young is Head of Piano at the Australian National Academy of Music where he has been a resident artist for nearly 20 years. He performs regularly in recital as a soloist and in partnership with leading Australian and international musicians and ensembles.

About the concert

Their performance in Primrose Potter Salon offers a selection of works for violin and piano inspired by the radiance of spring, beauty and love. The duo’s captivating stage presence, depth and expression are paired with a program of masterpieces inspiring hope and elation. The concert features a world premiere of Rosalind Page’s Blossoming World, alongside Beethoven’s famous Spring Sonata and works by J.S Bach, Kreisler, Dvorak, L.Boulanger and Bacewicz.
