SKOV

SKOV

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & SKOV

Details

A maze of adventurous improvisation and interactive musical interplay.

SKOV is a colourful, evocative folk-pop jazz project from guitarist and vocalist Jonathan Skovron. Balancing stretching his craft as an improvising guitarist and maintaining his roots in the singer-songwriter tradition, Jonathan sought to intertwine these musical forces.

About the concert

His performance in Primrose Potter Salon weaves sophisticated, yet deeply sincere songwriting through a maze of adventurous improvisation and interactive musical interplay, creating a unique language that lives somewhere near the intersection of Elliott Smith, Norah Jones and Bill Frisell.

Joined by long-time collaborators and fellow musical chameleons Haydn Meggitt and Simon Starr, the trio will perform original repertoire from SKOV’s recently released debut album, K’s Confusion.

Praise for SKOV

‘Great songwriting and production from one of Melbourne’s most talented musicians.’ Luke Howard
