Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & Morgana
Details
Hear these legends of improvised music reunite.
Ground-breaking all female jazz quintet Morgana, known for their trailblazing brand of creative, original, hard-hitting jazz are reforming for a performance celebrating their back catalogue alongside new works to their song list.
About the concert
Thriving on the collective energy of the group, Morgana’s reputation for performing a diverse range of original improvised music means at any given moment audiences could be hearing influences from across swing; modern and modal jazz; Indian vocal percussion, Konnakol; Celtic melodies; Baroque expressions; and/or funky back beat grooves.
Each known for making a significant impact in the advancement of Australian improvised music, Morgana’s members have been addressing gender diversity in jazz, decades ahead many others.
