About the concert
Bartsch’s latest album, Hope Renewed, is a jazz/post-rock reinterpretation of her 2021 ARIA-nominated classical album, Hope. The album is an intricate and immersive patchwork of sound that brings together Bartsch’s various musical sides. It is equal parts vulnerable and kind, minimalist and maximalist, and epic and playful as Bartsch explains, Hope was composed when we were confined to our homes, and the world felt so small. Hope Renewed reflects the new times we are living in – we are together again, and everything feels enormous. It’s an experiment in how it feels to show all the musical sides of me in one place’.
With her jazz quartet and special guest Mary Doumany, Bartsch creates a mesmerising performance that brings the album to life in full. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering her for the first time, Bartsch’s music will move and inspire you.
