Flinders Quartet – From Little Things
Presented by Flinders Quartet
Details
An optimistic, sunny start to Flinders Quartet’s 2023 season with Dvořák, Cawrse and Beach.
Even when music doesn’t have a specific narrative, it tells a story. Dvořák actively encouraged American composers to use Native American culture, which inspired Amy Beach to write her string quartet based on Inuit tunes; and Flinders Quartet have followed the musical trail to Caroline Shaw, who inspired Anne Cawrse to write in spaces between – a story of finding the space just to create while life pulls in multiple directions.
