Ears Wide Open: Elgar Cello Concerto

Ears Wide Open: Elgar Cello Concert

Presented by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Details

Join MSO Assistant Conductor Carlo Antonioli and presenter Nicholas Bochner to discover what makes this contemplative and elegiac work so enduring.

Composed in 1919 but only achieving widespread popularity with Jacqueline du Pré’s iconic recording in the 1960s, Elgar’s Cello Concerto has become a mainstay of the orchestral repertoire.
