Today we announced the appointment of Sharon Li as the Centre’s first-ever Chief Operating Officer, marking a significant milestone in the organisation's evolution.
Li will commence the role on Thursday 20 March 2025, bringing over 15 years of transformative financial, operational, and strategic leadership experience to the Centre.
She will play a pivotal leadership role in advancing Melbourne Recital Centre's financial performance, business growth and commercial success. This appointment strengthens the Centre's capacity to amplify Australia's diverse music ecology and achieve its ambitious vision for the future.
Li joins Melbourne Recital Centre from her current position as Chief Finance Officer at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, where she has led numerous initiatives that revolutionised their approach to data-driven decision-making, business intelligence, and operational efficiency. Her collaborative leadership style has successfully united artistic, commercial, and financial teams, enhancing the financial sustainability of one of Australia's most prolific cultural institutions.
A Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), she brings an exceptional combination of financial acumen and innovative thinking to the role. Her impressive career includes senior positions at Good Shepherd Microfinance and Ford Motor Company, demonstrating her ability to inspire teams, drive innovation, and achieve sustainable outcomes across diverse sectors.
