The Countertenor – Bach's Holy Spirit

Bach Akademie Australia is joined by GRAMMY®-nominated countertenor Reginald Mobley.

Experience the profound joy and inspiration found in the music of J.S. Bach with the dynamic and flexible ensemble of instrumentalists and singers, Bach Akademie Australia. The ensemble is joined by acclaimed GRAMMY®-nominated American countertenor Reginald Mobley—renowned for his purity of tone and deeply personal musicality—for his debut performance in Melbourne.

A distinguished specialist in period and baroque music, Reginald Mobley frequently collaborates with the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra, the Academy of Ancient Music, the New York Philharmonic, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, among others. In this performance, Mobley presents arias and cantatas of solace and profundity, including Bach’s Agnus Dei from the Mass in B minor, alongside instrumental works and Clans, a composition by First Nations composer Troy Russell. Commissioned by Bach Akademie Australia, in response to the Morning Star.
