Tarab Ensemble was founded by Palestinian-Australian musician Yousef Alreemawi in 2019, and draws inspiration for its name from the alluring Arabic concept of Tarab, which evokes the joy or even ecstasy derived from listening to great music! Tarab Ensemble since its inception, and under the mentorship of Dr. Ali Abdullah, has evolved to become Australia’s leading group in the genre of classical Arabic music.
Guests
Victorian Trade Union Choir
The choir is celebrating its 30th year, after forming in Melbourne in 1990 as part of a revival of trade union choirs throughout Australia. We are union members who see the choir as belonging to the union movement, providing a musical voice to its message. We sing in acapella style—able to perform anywhere the voice of protest needs to be heard—in Melbourne, Victoria and beyond!
