Sjaella
Experience the ethereal voices of Sjaella.
Following a stunning debut at Melbourne Recital Centre in 2023, German a cappella ensemble Sjaella returns to the stage with their ethereal and soul-stirring voices. Embodying a blend of youthful exuberance and refined artistry, their performances at the Rheingau Musik Festival, Mozarteum Salzburg, and collaborations with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra have cemented their reputation as one of the most captivating vocal ensembles of our time.
Performing commissioned works and original arrangements from their critically acclaimed album Origins, Sjaella seamlessly traverses contemporary and Baroque masterpieces. From the opening notes of David Lang’s poignant evening morning day to Henry Purcell’s enchanting adaptation of A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Fairy Queen, Sjaella masterfully weaves old and new in a performance rich with sensitivity and depth.
Duration: 1 hours 30 mins (no interval). Please note, running times are approximate and subject to change.
