Robin Fox presents Triptych
A hypnotic fusion of high-art techno, sonic mass, and buzzing electronica.
Step into the immersive world of Triptych, the award-winning work from visionary Australian audio-visual (AV) artist and composer Robin Fox. Described as an ‘audio-visual space-time carving,’ Triptych merges Fox’s two creative passions – electronic music and audio-visual mechanical synaesthesia. Using custom-built hardware to create simultaneous sound from laser projections, what you hear is what you see.
Inspired by the pioneering work of Polish AV artist Stanislaus Ostoja-Kotkowski, Fox channels decades of exploration into the synchronicity of light and sound, pushing his art into bold, uncharted territory. Uniquely mapped to each performance venue, Triptych transforms the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall into a hypnotic fusion of high-art techno, sonic mass, and buzzing electronica – demanding a live, communal experience.
Internationally recognised for his work spanning live performance, exhibitions, and contemporary dance, Robin Fox is the founding director of Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) and Melbourne Recital Centre’s Artist in Residence for 2025. Fox’s critically acclaimed Triptych premiered at Unsound Krakow in 2022 and has toured extensively, headlining Berlin Atonal, Barbican (London), Ephemera (Warsaw) and Lincoln Center (NY).
