Ravel and the Spirit of French Music

A celebration of Ravel’s 150th birthday and other French composers.

Pianists Daniel Le and Allie Xinyu Wang unite for a special afternoon concert to celebrate Maurice Ravel’s 150th birthday, with a program of French piano masterpieces. The recital showcases the rich history of French music, from the elegance of Ravel’s predecessors to his own innovative style.

Featuring Ravel’s Miroirs, a suite full of shimmering colours and emotions inspired by nature and light, as well as his dramatic La Valse for four hands. Alongside Ravel, enjoy works by baroque composers Rameau and Couperin, whose music shaped generations of French composers. The evening also includes pieces by Nadia Boulanger, a key figure in 20th century music.

Experience the grandeur of the French Baroque to the impressionistic beauty of modern France.
