La Compañia – Baroque Echoes

A stunning journey from the Scottish Highlands to the lively metropolis of Baroque London.
Joined by stunning soprano Jacqueline Porter, Renaissance ensemble La Compañia brings their virtuosity and flair to the hauntingly evocative rhythms and melodies of the Celtic and English Baroque eras.
Directed by Danny Lucin, La Compañia embodies its repertoire with precision, flexibility, and vibrant musicality. Unearthing some of the most beautiful and fascinating music from the 16th and early 17th centuries, the ensemble is recognised as Australia’s preeminent period instrumental group specialising in Renaissance and early Baroque music.
Audiences will embark on a musical journey woven through time. From the Scottish Highlands to the Emerald Isle and the lively metropolis of Baroque London, witness a program of heartfelt laments, graceful ayres and exuberant jigs and reels.
