Ticket Prices & Fees

Ticket Types

Standard

This is the full price of a ticket for a performance and is the price type that most people generally select.

Concession

This price is available only to people who have a valid:

• Carer Card
• Pension Card
• Health Care Card

Please note: our Concession price does not include the Victorian Seniors Card. If a Senior price is available for a performance, it will be listed as a separate price type.

If you have purchased a Concession ticket, you will be required to show your card when purchasing tickets, collecting tickets, or at any time during your visit.

Full-Time Student

This price is available to all full-time students, including all children aged under 16.

As with Concession tickets, students 16 and over are expected to have their Student Card or proof of enrolment with them when purchasing tickets, collecting tickets, or at any time during their visit.

Children under 16 using this price are not required to show proof of eligibility but are required to be accompanied by a guardian at all times when visiting the Centre, as part of our Conditions of Entry. Please note that not all performances are suitable for all ages.

Companion Cards

If you are a companion card holder and would like to purchase a complimentary companion ticket as part of your order, please call the Box Office on 03 9699 3333 during business hours. For more information on the Victorian companion card program please visit companioncard.vic.gov.au

Melbourne Recital Centre Members

Melbourne Recital Centre Members enjoy waived transaction fees and save 10% on tickets to selected concerts. Click here for more information.

Groups

Group bookings are available for selected events. Please call our Box Office during business hours on 03 9699 3333 or click here for more information.

Under 30s & 40s

For selected performances anyone aged 29 or 39 and under can purchase a ticket. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of purchase or collection of the ticket.

Babes in Arms

For designated events where advertised, babies under the age of one may attend free of charge and be admitted without a ticket, on the condition that they sit on the lap of a parent or guardian and do not occupy a seat. Everyone else attending these events must hold a valid ticket. For all other events, every person regardless of age must hold a valid ticket.

Special Tickets

Student Rush

Student Members can access $15 Student Rush tickets for all events presented by Melbourne Recital Centre, from 48 hours prior to an event. Student Rush tickets are subject to availability and can only be purchased if you have a valid Student Membership.

HalfTix

Melbourne Recital Centre will occasionally make tickets available via HalfTix at Melbourne Town Hall. Visit halftixmelbourne.com for details.

Mobtix

Mobtix is a special allocation of tickets that provides First Nations peoples both within and outside Australia access to a discounted rate for certain concerts. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from Australia are eligible, as well as Māori, Pasifika, and First Nations people from other countries.

Transaction Fees

As Melbourne Recital Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, transaction fees directly cover costs relating to updating and maintaining ticketing and website services. This includes making future improvements to these services for you, as well as supporting the Centre’s artistic program.

Transaction fees apply to bookings made online, via phone, email, and mail. Transaction fees apply to the whole transaction, not per ticket.

Online Bookings

For online bookings, separate fees also apply depending on the delivery method chosen.

$7 – Transaction Fee
$4 – Transaction Fee for events where all ticket prices are under $20

Phone/Email/Mail Bookings

For these bookings, fees do not apply for venue collection or Regular Post delivery methods.

$8.50 – Transaction Fee
$5.50 – Transaction Fee for events where all ticket prices are under $20

When do you not charge transaction fees?

If you are a Member, or purchase only a package/subscription, or reserve seats only to a free event, or buy tickets in person, we won’t charge you any fees on these purchases (except for Express Post charges).

Ticket Delivery

Digital Ticket (Free)

The quickest, cheapest, and easiest way to access your tickets. Receive your tickets via email for scanning at the venue via your smartphone.

Venue Collection ($1 per order online)

Your tickets will be held at the venue Box Office for collection during business hours or at any time prior to the performance. Show these tickets for scanning or checking at the venue.

Regular Post ($4 per order online)

Your tickets will be sent via Regular Post. Allow 2 - 5 business days for delivery. Tickets will not be sent outside Australia. Bring your posted tickets along with you for scanning or checking at the venue.

Express Post ($10 per order online)

Your tickets will be sent via Express Post. Allow 1 - 2 business days for delivery. Tickets will not be sent outside Australia. Bring your posted tickets along with you for scanning or checking at the venue.
