Details
Second show added due to popular demand! Three-time GRAMMY®-nominee Rufus Wainwright presents an intimate, solo performance in his highly anticipated return.
Praised by The New York Times for his ‘genuine originality,’ Rufus Wainwright is one of the great vocalists, songwriters, and composers of his generation. Renowned for his compelling stage presence, scintillating vocals, and poetic lyricism, the three-time GRAMMY®-nominated artist makes his highly anticipated return in this intimate solo performance.
Featuring original songs from his studio album Unfollow the Rules, Wainwright finds himself at the peak of his powers, embracing artistic maturity with passion, honesty, and a new-found fearlessness. In his latest release, Folkocracy, Wainwright embarks on a journey back to his family folk roots. Reflecting on childhood summers spent at folk festivals and watching his famous family on stage, Folkocracy features reimagined folk duets with artists such as Chaka Khan, Brandi Carlile, Anohni and many more.
With a prolific career spanning opera, film, and television, the New York-born, Montreal-raised singer-songwriter has released 10 studio albums to critical acclaim. Most recently, he captivated audiences at Royal Albert Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra and has collaborated with iconic artists including Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Pet Shop Boys, David Byrne, Billy Joel, and producer Mark Ronson.
