Top Class Music and Sound 2025 showcase the creativity and artistry possible through the VCE curriculum.
Top Class Music features incredible young students from across Victoria, who excelled in their VCE and VCE VET Music performance examinations and composition tasks in 2024.
Compered by Assessors and the VCAA’s Curriculum Manager for the Performing Arts, these part-concert, part-masterclass events present a range of instruments, interpretations and styles by soloists and groups. Current VCE students can expect to gain insight into how they can best prepare for their own performance examinations.
Wednesday 19 March
10am: Music, featuring solo and group performances, classical (acoustic)
2.30pm: Music, featuring solo and group performances, classical and contemporary (acoustic)
Thursday 20 March
10am: Music and Sound, featuring solo and group contemporary performances, including original compositions (amplified)
2.30pm: Music and Sound, featuring solo and group contemporary performances, including original compositions (amplified).

School Group Booking
The presale period for school group bookings is now closed.
During this presale, schools were invited to complete a booking request form.
School groups who completed the form in full will be seated in order of receipt and will receive a booking confirmation and invoice prior to the general on sale on Thursday 12 December.
From 11am Thursday 12 December, tickets will be available online for at a maximum of four per a customer. All group bookings from this date requiring an invoice can be made over the phone, in person or via email. School groups are strongly encouraged to book over the phone or at email boxoffice@melbournerecital.com.au.
A limited number of additional tickets will be released for sale in early February 2025 once all concert performers are announced.

Top Performing VCE Music Performance Repertoire, VCE Music Performance Contemporary, VCE Music Inquiry, VCE Composition, VCE VET Music (Performance) and, VCE VET Music (Sound Production) students from 2024, performing a range of original and non-original works.
