MSO – The Voice of the Viola: Fiona Sargeant

The Voice of the Viola

Presented by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Details

Sonorous sounds with Fiona Sargeant.

The sonorous sounds of the viola anchor both works in this program featuring MSO musician Fiona Sargeant. Hindemith’s concerto—based on German folk song— portrays a travelling medieval musician.

Brahms’ Second Serenade—having no violins in the orchestration—brings out the rich sounds of the lower voices of the orchestra in an intimate setting.
