Monica Lim
Monica was born in Malaysia and migrated to Melbourne in her teens, completing her high school education at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar and then studying Arts and Law at the University of Melbourne.
She was a tax advisor at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, then left professional life to pursue entrepreneurial interests in the retail sector. Together with her husband, Konfir Kabo, she runs a portfolio of fuel retail sites in Australia.
Monica and Konfir are co-founders of Project Eleven, a philanthropic initiative which supports contemporary art projects, with a particular focus on new commissions and cross-cultural projects.
Monica is deeply interested in contemporary music practice and is undertaking a postgraduate research degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, University of Melbourne in gesture-led composition. Monica also serves on the board of Liquid Architecture and the Member’s Council for Musica Viva.
